Aesthetics

Aesthetics is an important element in the fashion industry since it affects our image. Therefore, it is important for technologies to be seamlessly combined with what we wear on our body, such that it is wearable and it does not alter our appearance (for the worse) drastically.

The problem of aesthetics can already be seen in current fashion technologies. Although solar powered fashion may be practical and convenient for the user, consumers may deem the design to be unappealing to the eyes and bulky. Smartwatches have also been receiving complaints about its aesthetics - it looks too clunky, too childish, too cheap and basically, unattractive.

The problem of aesthetics become one of concern if companies aim to gain widespread acceptance from the mainstream public for their new inventions. Companies may choose to either be the trendsetters and invest in marketing techniques or invest in advanced technology to improve on the physical aspect for it to be succesfully integrated into their inventions.
